Always fascinated with the Canadian judicial system, Jessica attended college and after graduation worked as a Court and Client Service Representative and Reporter for the Ministry of the Attorney General. Eager to expand her knowledge Jessica became an Authorized Court Transcriptionist in 2016 and joined VP that same year. This move allowed Jessica to blend her love of the written word with her passion for the law into a career that has taken her both into and out of the courtroom.
Jessica currently works in the VP office full time as a Project Manager and Appeals Coordinator which fits her love for organization perfectly. Jessica walks each client from beginning to end of the appeal process for transcripts, as well as bookmarking, page labelling and linking volumes – additional feature offered to assist in preparation and presentation of appeals. In addition, Jessica manages projects by scheduling work for contractors in all departments including court transcripts, audio video, landlord tenant and many other departments; training programs within the company. Jessica also assists in ensuring all appearances are obtained for Section 11(b) Charter application transcripts.
In 2022, Jessica was integral to the development of the Mentorship Training Program which allows seasoned ACTs to share their knowledge and expertise with new graduates. Jessica has also reported on many discovery hearings, as well as prepared transcripts and marked exhibits for them. She has transcribed a broad range of proceedings, including multi-volume criminal appeals.
When Jessica is not at work, she is a wonderfully engaged parent to two, enjoying nature walks, the beach, shopping, camping, dining out, and convincing her husband that another road trip is the perfect way to spend the day.
